Hilton Head Island is located just off the coast of the South Carolina/Georgia border. It boasts remarkably pleasant weather year-round, which makes it ideal for outdoor activities such as bicycling, hiking, golf, or tennis. All of the accommodations and educational course activities are located at the Harbour Town Resort, which provides a pleasant environment and a lifestyle appealing to both families and young singles alike.

This resort is located within the Sea Pines Plantation, overlooking the Harbour Town Yacht Basin. A realistic oral board simulation is created on the third floor of the main building of the hotel, and has been carefully designed to approximate the environment that you will encounter when you reach Chicago on the day of your actual oral board examination.
Since the course is five days long, some recreation time is built into your schedule to help you unwind. Hilton Head’s white sand beaches are within walking distance of the hotel, and tennis, boating, biking, and horseback riding are all available activities that can be provided for a small fee. Discounted rounds of golf can also be booked through the front desk of the hotel, including the Harbour Town Golf Links, where the PGA-sponsored MCI-Heritage Classic is played.
Numerous lodging choices are available on Hilton Head Island, however the conference is located at Harbour Town Resorts. Rooms at the Harbour Town Resort range in size from single studios to family-sized five bedroom units. All rooms (with the exception of the studios) feature full kitchens, living and dining areas, and patios or balconies.
Hilton Head Airport (www.hiltonheadairport.com) is located on the north end of the island at 120 Beach City Road. The Airport Code is HHH and it is serviced only by US Airways Express, but connecting flights can be picked up in Charlotte, NC and Washington DC from many other carriers. Savannah/Hilton Head International Air Port (www.savannahairport.com) offers 53 daily departures going to 16 different destinations on 9 carriers: Airtran, American Eagle, Atlantic Southeast, Continental, Delta, Independence Air, Northwest, United, and US Airways. With all of these options of airlines to chose from and the cities they service, flying into Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is just as easy as landing on the island itself. The drive to Harbour Town from the airport takes approximately 45 minutes, but extra time should be allotted if the trek is expected to occur during business traffic hours. Rental cars, taxis, and shuttle buses are all easily obtained at the airport after you have landed. Savannah International Airport is located directly off of Route I-95, so driving to the Harbour Town in your rental car is simple and straightforward.
Driving Directions:
From anywhere on the east coast: Follow I-95 into South Carolina and get onto
Route 278 (exit 8) heading east. This will lead you to the bridge onto Hilton
Head Island. Cross over the bridge and continue on Route 278, which will become
the William Hilton Parkway. Soon after you have crossed the bridge, the William
Hilton Parkway will split; bear LEFT and get on the Cross Island Expressway
(Toll Road). Follow the Cross Island Expressway to the first traffic circle and
go a quarter-turn around, making a right turn onto Greenwood drive. Follow
Greenwood Drive west and follow signs to Sea Pines Guest Pass Pick-Up. It is
towards the back of the building. They can then direct you to the Harbour Town
Resort from the Sea Pines gate.
